I want to issue a demand letter to my employer, who is based in California. The company is registered in CA, but hires remote US employees all over the country. I specifically worked remotely from PA. Do I need a lawyer in PA or CA?

Hi Samantha! So typically if you’re making a demand, you have a few options: 1. Usually the cause of action needs to be based where the defendant is. This means you’d want one in CA. 2. The only exception is if your employment agreement or policies states jurisdiction is in a specific place:). You’re best bet? A lawyer in CA, preferably in the county where the business is located.
